Local distillery Virginia Spirits has diversified their production line from their award winning 36 Short gin and rakia to include the production of hand sanitiser.

“Being a small family business we wanted to do our part and answer the call to the low supply of hand sanitiser in Australia at the moment due to COVID–19; so we have now added to our production line, making hand sanitiser for the community,” said owner and Head Distiller Jon Lioulios.

The distillery were able to increase their production capabilities to manufacture and supply hand sanitiser that meets the World Health Organisation standards.

Jon states, “our hand sanitiser is 80% ethanol which makes it medical grade, suitable for health care facilities, businesses, frontline workers and the general public. We are selling five litres for $140, you can purchase online and delivery is available nation-wide with free shipping. We will continue with production until supply levels normalise.”

Virginia Spirits based in the Northern Adelaide Plains, South Australia employs five people locally and have been able to maintain full production of their hand-crafted 36 Short range during this unprecedented time. The boutique distillery has even managed to introduce another new product, 36 Short Blood Orange Vodka made with blood oranges grown on the family farm.
