Three Playford National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) providers have received $20,000 each through the Boosting the Local Care Workforce Program – Transition Assistance Funding to boost their capacity and service provider readiness during the transition to NDIS.
Funds received by the three businesses will be used to grow their business and put in place more sophisticated systems to ensure longevity and a professional service for participants.
One business will be using the fund to purchase a large software system package which is tailored to meet their business requirements. The system will streamline processes, freeing up time which will increase their capacity to take on new on new clients and focus on other areas of the business.
While the other two recipients have identified consultants and mentors that will support the growth of the business and create more sophisticated business processes required to effectively operate in the new competitive disability market.
Application process
All three recipients were notified of the grant by the Stretton Centre’s Business Support Team.
The Business Support Team provided guidance to the three businesses throughout the application process, – clarifying any questions, providing examples of eligible activities covered by the fund, supporting self-assessment and recommendations on activities that would benefit their business.
The fund supports capacity building of NIDS providers to succeed in the new competitive disability market. Supporting businesses to attract, retain and optimise workforce, develop skills and capabilities and increase awareness of the opportunities to enter, expand and collaborate in the disability.
Not only is the investment in local NDIS providers beneficial to the business and its employees, but also NDIS participants who have access to more sophisticated and diverse services locally.
