The South Australian Additive Manufacturing Applied Research Network (AMARN) is the first and only commercial metal additive manufacturing in Australia which also offers training in design.

AMARN is a joint partnership between the University of Adelaide, South Australian State Government, Federal Government, the Stretton Centre, Century Group and industry collaboration aimed at facilitating the adoption of metal additive manufacturing within South Australian companies.

The network includes

  • Australian Advanced Materials Manufacturing Pty Ltd, a metal 3D printing company based in Edinburgh North, SA at the Century Group site;
  • Local training in the design philosophy and skills required for successful implementation of 3D metal printing, provided through the Institute for Photonics and Advanced Sensing (IPAS);
  • Planning advice and training for companies considering installing and operating 3D metal printers in their own facilities; and
  • A GigCity precinct, which provides opportunities to support advanced manufacturing, research and innovation related activities in the areas of defence, medical, dental, resources and waste water.
